Alam Shanti

5 out of 5 points to this hotel...!
Check out Matt's review on Trip Advisor he wrote.

There were:
1 King size bed
1 Single bed
1 Study desk
A changing area
2 Day beds in the balcony
1 Dining table in the balcony
Swimming pool is just next to our room! Almost private!

The bathroom has a little garden with running water pond thing, a bathtub and shower which is semi-open. Like in the balcony, it overlooks rice fields and a river running between - and nothing else.
Yes, it's gorgeous!

First night in Ubud

After checking in - 1hour by car from Airport and a welcome juice from hotel in which we added some rum, we headed down to the famous Kecak Dance show ending with a guy in trance.
Matt's a fast learner and his Kecak dance move, the fine finger and eye balls move together with the robotic neck move is so mesmerizing.

Day 2 - Caves, Temples, Volcano, Spice house etc.

We rented a car & a driver for a day and went to a tour around the Northern side of Bali.

This is "Goa Gajah" - inside, there are few holes like this where they used to meditate.

Matt testing the 'anti-aging' power of the water... he reckons it worked.

Not sure which one of them were more disturbing. The snake or the man.
"Ooo Ooo...."

Gunung Agung

Day 3 - Lazy Ubud & Jimbaran seafood dinner by the beach

Lazing around on a day bed.

This piece of furniture is a must have!

Went to eat at Jimbaran Bay.
Seafood was ok... but the grilled corn sold by a guy in a stall at the beach was the best.

Arak - Balinese palm rum - had a bad after taste that lasted for hours, I hate it from this moment!

Day 4 - Taste of top notch luxury

We went to see Four Seasons Ubud, and like many Japanese tourists we snapped away the beautiful scenery from the reception area.

At night we went to Nusa Dua - Nice but pretentious - so there's no photo...

Day 5 - Kuta

Went to Kuta for dinner at a Mexican restaurants and had few too many long island cocktails, ended at an empty Hard Rock Cafe pretty drunk.

Matt loves Arak - Balinese rum made of palm.
